LSNED - 26th Sept

Today I learnt how much fun conkering can be! All you need are the male species, and some big sticks.......

look at this beauty :-)

I was then offered to get more hands on..... as you can see the humans thought it was very amusing but I wasn't so sure - it was a long way up and I had the fork of the stick in my bottom!

Then someone clever decided it might be better to throw me into the tree to see if I could knock any down. Umm, that will be NO. I am too light, and I managed to get stuck.

I did get rescued though, and we continued the conkering mission. Right up until all the sticks had returned to their natural habitat and no amount of tree wiggling was going to get them down....

It was a really good day :-)

LSNED - 25th Sept

Today I learnt that autumn is coming.....

........and raking leaves can be a dangerous activity if you are at the wrong end of the rake!

LSNED - 24th Sept

Today I learnt that I am glad I don't need to have my eyes tested..... the drops the boys had really stung, but they were very brave! No photo today as the boys were a bit sensitive to the light with enormous pupils, but will take a photo when their new glasses are ready :-)

Sunday, 5 September 2010

LSNED - 5th Sept

Today I learnt that it took 2 hours to iron all the name labels into the boys' school stuff.... and that perhaps the mummy of the house shouldn't have left it til the last day of the holidays to do it!

I also learnt that by watching the instruction video and having done a practise run, the humans can have their tent up in half and hour....

... that firelighters that have been in the shed for ages are useless at starting a BBQ, but if you buy firelighting fluid from the campsite shop you don't need to go hungry....

.... that sleeping bags are very cosy...

.... and that the sunset we saw from our pitch was lovely.

(Liam looks very miserable in this photo! And as an extra learning point, I learnt that he loves that Batman t-shirt and insisted on wearing it again today!!)

but my favourite bit of the play area was the Monkey Bars ;-)

There is also a bird watching hut there too, but I didn't learn any names of birds today as unfortunately we didn't see any!
