Elf Your Christmas - Day 24

Alf left us a note saying he knew we had visitors coming today so he made these reindeer cupcakes that Mrs Claus had taught him how to make, and that he hopes we like them.

I am sure we will - lots of chocolate so what isn't there to like?!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 23

Alf has become one of the gang since he has been here, so the lads threw him a (slightly early) leaving party.....

Elf Your Christmas - Day 22

Alf understands how frustrating it can be waiting those last few days to Christmas, so he left a little something for the boys to make today with their Daddy.... snow globes :-)

The dining room turned into a mass of bits of foam etc, but I think secretly the Daddy of the house enjoying faffing about with little snowflakes and glitter glue nearly all day.....

The end result was good....

and Alf thought so too.  Really reminds him of home!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 20

Poor Alf, I think he is really missing the NP weather and the fun is brings..... I suppose at least this way he doesn't get wet.

Elf Your Christmas - Day 19

Mmmm, looks like Alf had no help with this one... Monkey is nowhere to be seen!  Just wish he had known that we have an appointment with someone at the house this afternoon - not sure they will think toilet roll from the cloakroom......

...into the living room.........

.....round the tree.......

........and over to the TV......

is normal!!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 18

Colouring in - a perfect activity for a quiet Sunday.... the boys will be happy there are lots of pictures Alf didn't have time to do - they love colouring!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 17

There's a moose loose aboot this hoose......

Only problem is that we keep looking here to see what the time is as our clock usually hangs above the fireplace.  So it's always moose o'clock!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 16

Would appear that Alf thinks I am behind schedule when it comes to the present wrapping, so he took it upon himself to try to assist last night.  This is the mess we found this morning.

Monkey paid back for being a sore loser....

before Alf got into a sticky situation with the cellotape.  Don't think he'll be trying this again any time soon.

Elf Your Christmas - Day 15

Looks like Monkey has introduced Alf to the board games, and doesn't look too happy about Alf beating him at Connect 4.....

Elf Your Christmas - Day 13

Really horrible weather last night, so we were glad to see Alf had made it to the North Pole and back safely.  I think he needed something quiet to do after the excitement of the zip wire, so he finished off Junior's hama beads that he had started before it all went a bit wrong and he couldn't get going again with it.

Not only did he manage to follow all the instructions for the cars, but he made some little designs with the left overs.  He's very clever writing his name in hama beads and he made some fab tree decorations too (OK so he forgot to leave a bead out so we could thread ribbon onto them but the man of the house will just need to drill holes instead!).  My favourite is definitely the elf, looks just like him :-)

Elf Your Christmas - Day 12

I'm not sure who instigated this little adventure but my money is on Monkey as he is the extreme sports fanatic in the house..... they took a piece of string that I had out for hanging the cards, and made a zip wire of out it!  Would appear that the candy canes I put on the tree yesterday may have been the inspiration!

Looks like fun was had and as we didn't find anyone crumbled in a heap on the floor we're guessing it was injury free!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 11

Alf is quick to learn I'll give him that.  Saturday night is movie night in our house, and so he got himself a new DVD and chillaxed with the lads....

Just as well they didn't eat all the popcorn though or they would have been in big trouble. They did polish off most of their pot though..... can't blame them really, toffee popcorn is the best!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 10

We think all Alf's antics have caught up with him as this morning we found him in a Santa hat sleeping bag under the tree.... bless him.

Elf Your Christmas - Day 9

When Alf heard that Senior had had fish fingers for tea at his friend's house, he realised just how much he was missing the North Pole food.  All the rain we had yesterday must  have melted a hole in the white snow and so he grabbed his make shift fishing rod and sat down for a peaceful wait...

Nothing was biting but he enjoyed the fishing none-the-less.

But would you believe it, while I was out this morning he caught one - lucky thing!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 8

With all pens and other writing instruments under lock and key, this morning Alf was found on top of the unit in the dining room - he'd been playing with the letter blocks instead.....

Elf Your Christmas - Day 7

Alf obviously doesn't know the rule about only drawing on paper...........

Elf Your Christmas - Day 6

Alf was excited to see so many cars, as you don't get any in the North Pole because of all the snow.  He decided he'd like to see what life was like in the fast lane but didn't get far as it was gridlocked!

Elf Your Christmas - Day 5

Alf enjoyed watching the boys decorated their newly adopted tree yesterday.  Certainly lots of baubles to look at to while away the day..... and he couldn't resist taking a quick photo of himself posing on the top.

He must have been pretty disappointed that the tree in the living room was up but bare as we don't have lights for it yet.  Obviously he took inspiration from yesterday's book and decorated it for us....

...... with pants!

Lets hope his legs don't lock in the spread-eagled position from sitting like that all day!

P.S.  You'll have to excuse the lights around the picture rail, they were put up by a male and his little assistant who were trying to be helpful.  They will be tweaked by a female so all the wires are hidden.........

Elf Your Christmas - Day 4

Well after yesterday's events, things were nice and calm this morning.  Alf was sitting nicely in the dining room with a present to say sorry to us all.

We have 2 of the other books in this collection, so it was nice to have a Christmas related one.  They are about pants and of course this means quite humorous.

Elf Your Christmas - Day 3

The boys were very pleased that Alf took the pictures they had drawn for Santa last night, I think the big man is going to need to get a folder to store them all so he can keep them in the loft or somewhere as they are just too cute to throw away.....

Bit of a surprise this morning when the boys couldn't find Alf.  It was 7.45am so should have been plenty of time for him to get to the North Pole and back....  We convinced them to have their breakfast first so we would have energy for a wider search and would you believe it - Alf and Monkey were in the cupboard and........

Had. Eaten. All. My. Pringles.   I was not a happy bunny.

Would appear they had 'stumbled' across the sausage and crispy bacon pringles (in a shut cupboard but I should have known that Monkey would remember where we keep the sweets and crisps when we get them!).  What started off as a couple each, quickly turned into the whole tube.  Guess it proves the advert saying of 'once you pop you can't stop'.

After laughing hysterically when they found him and realising what they had done, Senior was then mortified that the whole packet of pringles had gone.  Alf had got to the line in the sand and it was 50-50 whether he was welcome in our house, and we were worried Senior may not be able forgive him, as he wanted to try that flavour.

Thankfully though they have nagged him through the pringles tube at every opportunity today, and I'm sure he gets the message that he must not eat our food again - either through those 'naughty elf' chats or the fact he has spent all day upside down in a tube inside a cupboard.  As punishment, Senior has captured the evidence in a picture with a tell-tale note in true 7-year-old fashion for him to take to Santa tonight.

Monkey looks a bit like a fox, and Senior's football kit looks strangely like a leotard, but I'm sure Santa will get the drift.

Elf Your Christmas - Day 2

Well it didn't take long for news of our elf's arrival to spread.  The boys came downstairs this morning to find the 'inner circle' all huddled around hearing tales from the North Pole.

Liam was very pleased that Alf took his Dr Who picture with a note saying thank you for the advent calendars to Santa last night.  In return Alf has been formly registered as our adopted elf, and he brought back an adoption certificate and a letter from Santa thanking them for looking after one of his best helpers.  And a reminder to be extra good (can't say it too often!).

It's nice that Alf has made lots of friends already, however I don't like the way he's looking at Monkey.  That boy needs no encouragement on the mischief front, and unless I am mistaken I think he is smirking slightly in a 'ohhh this is going to be fun!' type of way.......  Oh dear.
