Only seems like a couple of days since I posted August lol. Really must stay up to date with this as I would kick myself if I let it slip now! So without further ado, here's our September in numbers:
2 = the number of boys excited to go back to school (and very happy with their new school bags!). Peace reins again at home during school hours :-)
1 = the number of impatient dogs who laid and watched all his toys drying on the line (I did feel a bit bad about that but if I was washing one, I might as well just wash them all at the same time!).
1 = the number of Group Chairpersons presented with their official appointment card.
9 = the age of our baby, where does the time go? He used all his birthday money to buy a telescope.... resulting in 1 very happy boy.
1 = the number of B&Q DIY parties Joe went to - he just loved the bug house he made. The birthday boy's dad took some great photos of them all but I can't share them as they have other children in them. We'll both be doing LOs with them soon I hope!
1 = the number of trips to Wookey Hole with the Beavers. Joe said it was awesome!
7 = the number of birthday cards I sent this month
1 = the number of broken arms in my family.... going to be a long 2 months until my dad can use his arm again!!
So there we have it, another month gone! Thanks for popping by - you can find more about Julie's month in numbers project on her blog here.

My month in numbers - August
Blimey, since we are almost in October, I thought I had better catch up with my month in numbers blogging! The weeks seem to be flashing by and life is just a bit of a whirlwind... Anyway, here goes, a very late recap of our August in numbers:
1 = the number of surprise days out for the boys with Uncle Jim and Aunt Jean to Ashdown House. They really enjoyed it :-)
2 = the number of sheds finally built on their new base at Dads house. Not even going to attempt to work out how many days that took to add in here as a number! Possibly in 3 digits!!
1 = the number of days out to @ Bristol - boys of all ages loved it!
1 = the number of times the grass has been hoovered this month lol
1 = the number of fun days out with Nanny and Grampy to Chedworth Roman Villa. They both made mosaics which look fab.
Too many to count = the number of lovely walks we have had with the dog in the gorgeous summer weather we have had this year. We tried to do a new exploring one each week.
3 = the number of nights camping Dave and the boys did at Lacock. Lots of boy time and stargazing :-) I brought Clyde up and he was so well behaved for 5 hours then it got dark and he barked at everything so back home he came! Will try again next year...
2 = the number of boys who completed the summer reading challenge at the local library.
1 = the number of albums I recovered with a 'test sample' of wallpaper from B&Q. Joe loves it and I have to admit I'm pretty pleased with how well it turned out.
6 = the number of Beaver badges Joe has worked on over the summer holidays. He really wants to earn his Bronze Award before moving up to Cubs next Easter so he's catching up on some of the badges and challenges the others did before he joined the Colony.
5 = the number of Cubs badges Liam worked on over the summer holidays, including his puppet show 'Spoons Got Talent' which he is going to perform to his Pack when they go back.

Watch this space for September's month in numbers, which I promise to post next week!! Think it might take me all of next year to do my month in numbers album. So far I have only got a couple of photos added for January....

LOs catch up
Hello neglected blog readers! Sorry for the long break in posting. Just popping on to share the LOs Joe and I did towards the end of the school holidays, will pop back later to post my August month in numbers...
These are our LOs for the August week 2 challenge on UKS - the criteria was 50% white space, use more than 2 papers and include stitching. This is mine:
and this is Joe's:
We also did the August week 3 challenge, which was to follow the sketch, use a holiday photo and the papers had all to be scraps. Here's mine:
and here's Joe's:
We didn't do the week 4 challenge as Joe had some bits to do for his other Beaver's badges that he wanted to finish before going back after the holidays. I really enjoying scrapping with him over the past few weeks and can't believe how well he did using sketches. His album looks amazing and you can really see how he has progressed from his 'slap it all on' approach when he started a year or so ago. Way to go Joe! :-)

Weekly challenge - August week 1
Still going strong on the weekly challenge target, so here are our LOs for August week 1. Criteria was to use the sketch, the colour red, pink or purple and a song or film title from a list of people provided. Joe struggled with this as he thought he could use any old song or film title, not helped by the fact he had no idea who the people referred to were!

My month in numbers - July
Seem to be late posting these every month, but I guess better late than never. No idea where July went, it flew by... even quicker than the rest of the months this year. Anyway, here's what happened in July:
1 = the number of barn owls the boys got to hold at the school PTA BBQ. It was gorgeous!
1 = the number of girly shopping days I had with my sister. Had a great day, bought stuff I had been wanting for a while and really enjoyed spending time together. Had very sore feet when I got home though!
1 = National Trust visits this month, we went to Tredegar House in Wales which was lovely although I thought the grounds were nicer than the house.
34 = the highest temperature seen on my car thermometer. Phew, it was a very hot couple of weeks during the UK heatwave. Poor Clyde really felt it....
1 = the number of school trips to Sandbanks - it was right in the middle of the heatwave but Joe still had a fantastic day out.
8 = the number of badges the boys earned at Beavers and Cubs during the last half term. Lots of sewing for me before they go back after the summer. They are keen to work on more during the holidays too :)
2 = the number of LOs I have done this month. Hoping to do more next month!
And that's it for another month. If you'd like to know more about the month in numbers idea, visit Julie's blog here.

Layouts....
Well my blog is quite neglected at the moment, really must try to remember to take more photos and post on here more regularly.
I've actually done some scrapping over the past couple of weeks. I have Joe to thank for that, as he is doing scrapbooking for his Beavers hobbies badge and so we decided to have a go at the UKS weekly challenges during the summer holidays, using sketches. So here's what we have done:
July week 4 - the criteria was to include something from your list of what summer means to you, include lines, and at least 3 colours from the photo provided.
Here's mine...
.... and here's Joe's.
I also did a LO for the July UKS house challenge, which was to use a selection of colours from a photo provided.
July week 5 - there were lots of choices in last week's challenge all based around books/comics. Here's mine...
.... and here's Joe's.
I am so proud of how much journaling he wrote on this, and how neat it is. He is using the information he learnt about Grampy's hot air balloon flight towards his Air Activities badge, so a double whammy this week :-)

My month in numbers - June
A bit late again this month but here we are, half way through the year - scary! This is what has been happening around here in June:
1 = the number of family get-togethers we had when my aunts and uncles both came to stay with my dad for a weekend. Was so great to see everyone together.
32 = the number of minutes I ran Race for Life in. I raised £373 for Cancer Research - thanks to everyone who generously donated to this fantastic cause!
1 = the number of 40th birthdays celebrated
1 = the biggest surprise ever - Dave booked for us to go to Disneyland Paris as my birthday present. AMAZING.
300 = the number of Disneyland photos I got printed (eek!)
7 (almost) = the number of years I ran our crop with Trudy but I made the tough decision to stop and so this month was our last one.
3 = the number of days I spent at the office in Kingsclere for the company OpenHouse event.
2 = the number of school sports days I watched, with the sack race and skipping being particularly amusing ;-)
3 = the number of layouts completed this month, hoping the mojo is finding it's way home!
And that's it for this month. Feels like my feet haven't touched the ground but it doesn't look much when you write it down!
