January Photo a Day

My scrappy friend Shirley (who takes fantastic photos!) took part in this challenge last year.  I feel I should confess up front that I will not be taking a photo on each day for these prompts, although sometimes it works out that way.... but I am using it as a way to try to encourage me to take a pretty varied selection of photos throughout the month.  Hopefully as I work through the year I'll actually think more about the 'how' of taking the photos rather than just a quick point and shoot which quite a few of this month's are.

 1 . Lunch... boys choice

2. Begins with G... gate

3.  My town... you have to be well practised at roundabouts!

4. Word to live by... summed up perfectly on this poster

5. Found... the dog on the sofa when he knows he is not allowed up there!

6. Happens everyday... sunrise

 

7. Upside down... he's such a big kid!

8. Lucky number...don't really have one

9. Natural.... a bird's nest tucked into a tree, I'm glad it survived the strong winds recently

10. Manmade... on the other side of where I stood to look at the bird nest in the tree are these mobile phone masts, certainly not the most attractive manmade thing!

11. Looking down... at the ice rink from my hotel room when I arrived in Bratislava for a work trip

12. Colourful... the cover of mini Project Life album I am trying to finish for last year

13. Makes me smile... the collection of 'I love you' post it notes Joe left for me by my bedside table on the day I was due back from Bratislava

14. 3 things... cousins

 15. Black + white... black hairdryer and white (not too impressed) dog

16. Sun... evidence it did appear!

17. Tiny... only takes a tiny hole to get a puncture...

18. Happy place... anywhere that is fun

19. Breakfast... waffles, yummy! (almost forgot to take a photo before I tucked in lol)

20. To do list... Joe was good at reminding me that sowing his badges on was on my to do list

21. Blue... in between the torrential rain we did actually have some lovely blue skies this month!

22. Nice!... love the posh bathrooms when I stay in hotels

23. Bedtime... completely lost track of time because I really wanted to finish my book.  So tired the next day lol.

 

24. Your space... we seem to live in our extension since having it done.

 

25. A taste of winter... so cold the remaining flood water has frozen over

26. Fun stuff!... trying on the PCSO's jacket during his visit to Cubs

27.  Something I bought... tickets to see the local ice hockey team



28.  Dinner... can't beat the house smelling of beef stew in the slow cooker :-)

29. Window... looking out from my desk

30. Best invention ever... I would be lost without my ipad, I use it loads.

31. Polka dot... the only thing I could find was the dog's collar!

Thanks for popping over and managing to get to the end of that lot... now I need to get some of these into my Project Life album before it's too late to start the thing ;-)
